Still here

It's been more than a month without an update. Not much exciting to mention. Car is back from the shop. What an adventure that turned out to be. Next up on the agenda in the next few months will be seeing if I can find a suitable replacement. I was already planning on replacing it anyway, since it's awful in the snow and it's become increasingly inconvenient to haul stuff around in it. Big enough, does the job, but it's like a game of Tetris half the time to get everything to fit.
Fuzz the cat is back to his relative old self. Probably will never be exactly the same, but got a clean bill of health from the vet. Suppose you can't ask for much more. With that, here's an updated picture of him relaxing.

Sunday Music Club

This week has been a roller coaster. Fuzz, the amazing disappearing cat has magically returned. Just wound up staring at me from the back patio a month after dashing out the door. So happy to have him back. He's still adjusting I think, but besides having lost a lot of weight, he appears fairly healthy. With that good news, couldn't help but think of this song for today.

This sucks

The last 24 hours have not been kind.

Lesson learned. Don't hit a deer on the highway going full speed. Again as I keep repeating, partly because I can hardly believe myself, I am fine, no injuries.
Still waiting to hear about the official damage estimate.

Update to update nothing

Not much to say. No sign of the cat. Pretty much as I expected. If I had any indication that he might come back or even a chance sighting, I might feel a little more optimistic.
I am feeling optimistic on finding a suitable replacement for the furball though. I'm definitely leaning towards a dog as a replacement. Hard to make a decision. I'm aware they are a lot more work and attention, but having never had one of my own, it could just be conjecture. Fuzz was a pretty good near dog. He was needy at times, definitely had a pretty strict food schedule, and fairly destructive if given the chance. He was also good at being corrected and moderately trained in the same way as a dog.

Eh, just letting a little free flow thought out. Mostly just because my internet now seems to be working better.

So this sucks

Sorry for not keeping up. Frankly with all the "scandals" currently going on, I'm sick of hearing about yet another supposed worse than Watergate scandal. I also have no patience any more trying to talk sense into people hell bent on finding a huge, vast conspiracy out there. Especially when you dig deeper into these "scandals" and find out they are a continuation of the Bush era policies that conservatives were silent on for nearly a decade.
That's not what this post is about, although I did want to get that off my chest. No, it's the fact that my cat has gone missing. Myself, being a dumbass, opened my sliding glass patio door without hesitation after I heard a ruckus. Turns out it was a neighbor's cat that I didn't see, which Fuzz decided to immediately chase and attack before I even realized the screen door half was open. A split second later, he took off, and I haven't seen him since. He'd never made a break for the door like that before so it caught me off guard.
Kind of a bummer. I hope he finds his way back or someone picks him up, because I already miss him. He was a damn cool cat. Exactly what I wanted. Almost fearless, quirky, incredibly affectionate at times, but not terribly needy most of the time. We had a nice little rhythm going after a year and a half together.
If he doesn't turn up, I'll be disappointed, but I think I've already decided I'll be getting another in a month or so. It doesn't diminish his existence, but the reality of the situation. It's a tough area for him to get lost in and even tougher to try and find him. That he took off at night during a rain storm doesn't help. I'm not writing an obituary for him, as I hold out hope he'll come back or find another safe home.
Here's one of his first pictures, probably my favorite.

Sunday Music Club

No particular reason other than a song I like. Nothing special about the video. Somehow seems fitting to me after this week. Oh well, here it is

The move is complete

So, I finally got confirmation that the old website is finally offline for good. Looks like this is my new online home. I know I said I would be better at updating and I was for awhile. I'll keep trying but I'm not making any promises as usual. Damn Facebook. Anyway, I'm probably just talking to myself here. We'll see, any a fond farewell to The Doghouse Forum at Dogeatdogsite.com.

In other news, finally caught Django Unchained. Hell of a movie. Just as violent as advertised with incredibly liberal use of the n-word peppered throughout. A little slow and long with an ending that almost seemed tacked on. A couple of interesting cameos and a true western setting....in the south.
Well worth checking oout if you're a Tarantino fan.
